Sitting in the boardroom of Interchange and listening to Justin O’Meara tell us the history of their company, what they have managed to achieve, the lessons they have learnt along the way and the vision they have for the services they want to provide going forward. I sat very quietly, soaking it all in and thought, we have to be a part of this.
We listened with absolute pleasure as Justin, Damien, Annette articulated the near term and long term goals and how Fleetsu was needed to assist in making that vision a reality. This entire project was driven from a desire to improve on an already great service and to take what assets they had and expand on their service offering. We have all heard the term “work smarter, not harder” and that rarely actually happens, but I thought if we get this right, I can finally call up my work improvement coach from 2004 and tell him I finally did it!
The next item from that list was generated in 2004. “Send fewer emails.”
On the drive back to head office (involving only a short stop at Ben’s favourite cafe for a drive through afternoon coffee), we discussed the project in detail. Arriving back, we brought everyone into the board room to discuss the high-level project items with excitement.
A few short weeks later, Interchange started to receive their first glimpse at seeing their fleet in real-time and what data-based decisions they could make. Jake expertly guided Annette through all the reports and insights at her disposal and what it all meant.
Anyway I could go on but I would like to say that we are excited about all projects but when we heard about Interchange’s story and what they wanted to do we knew we had to be a part of it. I wish I could say more and once we complete the next phase I will be back to tell of more exciting news! Until then please read the feature story link below.
